About Us
Bill Johnston, our founder and CEO, established Bill Johnston Landscape Company in 1979. Based in Willow Grove, PA, we provide landscape services as well as hardscaping and drainage control to local homeowners and businesses.
From your first call to our office until each job is completed, our focus is always on making you 100% happy with our services.
It starts with our first visit to your property. Oscar Martinez, our General Manager and Sales Representative, will meet with you to understand your needs and inspect your property. Then, he will provide a clear plan including the landscaping costs to achieve your goals.
Get to Know Us
Bill Johnston: With strong roots in Philadelphia, Bill graduated from Cheltenham High School. While attending Montgomery County Community College, he worked at the local Acme supermarket to pay for school. Bill soon realized that wasn’t his dream. In 1978, he bought a pickup truck and began cutting lawns. Soon, he expanded into landscape design, planting and hardscaping. For him, there is nothing better than seeing the finished product and making people happy with his work.
Today, in business for over 45 years, Bill loves the fact that he is now working for families who are the 3rd generation of his first customers. In his heart, one of the most rewarding parts of the job is developing the young men from Mexico and learning about their culture. Bill has visited his workers and their families in Mexico during their winter breaks. An avid baseball fan, Bill has seen a MLB game in almost every major US city. He only has two left to visit in Cleveland and Detroit. But, his most important day of the week is Sunday which is always reserved for time with his grandkids.
Oscar Martinez: Starting out as a laborer, Oscar came to us in 2004 from Mexico as part of a US program called H2B. Over the years, Oscar worked his way up to Crew Foreman and in 2010 became a General Manager and Sales Representative. With his amazing attention to detail, creative talent and extensive experience in all phases of landscaping from design to installation and maintenance, Oscar is a joy to work with. Today, Oscar lives permanently in Abington and enjoys visiting his family in Mexico for a few weeks every winter. He loves baseball and watching all sports.
